The Innovation Award for the Midsize Enterprise Initiative for the year 2008 was announced at CEBIT, with over 1,600 applicants. Claranet received this distinction for its hosted PBX solution. A A key factor in the jury's decision was the possibility of extending telephone systems easily without extensive new wiring and without having to physically set up additional ports. . The Innovation Award has been recognising special services in information technology since 2004.
Best Business ISP Award - Internet Services Providers' Association ISPA's
The judges recognised Claranet's "outstanding quality, reliability and adaptability for businesses" and "were particularly impressed with Claranet's customer support and their dedicated managed security services". The ISP's have been the UK Internet Industry Awards since 1999 and herald the best of the Internet industry and to celebrate innovation and best practice.
Best Business ISP Award - German ECO Internet Award
Claranet won honours the eco Internet Award for Business Customer ISPs for the 2 year in a row - ahead of Easynet GmbH and QSC AG, who were also nominated for the award. The jury found Claranet especially impressive for its "consistent high quality and conscientious service." Claranet was also nominated in the category "Hosting Provider for Business Customers". Nomination is now seen as a distinction by the judges, due the rapidly increasing number and calibre of competing companies.
Gold Innovation Award - VoIP Germany
Claranet received the innovation award for its hosted IP-PBX service at VO.IP Germany. The prize is awarded along with the VO.IP Germany Awards for Systems, Services/ASP, Applications and Mobility for the most innovative entry from all four categories.
Claranet also won third place in the Services/ASP category. The judges praised Claranet's hosted IP-PBX entry "Clara NetPhonie" as particularly impressive for its high security standards, flexibility, scope of service and service quality.
Best Service Provider for Business Customers - German ECO Internet Award
Judges noted that Claranet's product portfolio precisely meets the needs of medium-sized companies in industry, finance and administration, basing their decision on the level of innovation of the product, price-to-performance ratio, and focus on customer benefits. eco The Association of German Internet Enterprises (eco) is an organisation encompassing over 300 companies with more than 200,000 employees. The goal of the Association is to promote commercial use of the Internet to strengthen the economic position of Germany.
